GOD let it be written that .... John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. GOD, so there are really those wise men and men that would not hear and surely be held accountable and judged Spiritually. Jer 8:9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them? Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. Jhn 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Jhn 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. GOD, YOUR Word was written for Divine S p i r i t u a l discernment only to those still so few chosen little children. Hbr 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Absolutely !! Emotional, literal, and so physically coagulated with vain humility and enticing words, side by side with logic human philosophies to them that reject and did not hear the Truth in Gospel that was preached. GOD, absolutely Your Words indeed are Parables of Spiritual Truth.

Almario Who is Jesus praying for in John 17:17? Hint: read 17:6-9. You are then saying, that God has only chosen "a few" to hear His word? Would this be called "Predestination?" By this, you are saying that a man cannot "believe" by "hearing." This is contrary to Jesus prayer in the "upper room" in front of His disciples at the Passover and Paul's letter to the church at Rome. (Romans 10:17). Almario, Did you miss the ending of Jesus' prayer in John 17? May I refresh your mind: He prayed: "Neither pray I for these alone (apostles), but for them (you and me) also which shall believe on me through their word" (17:20). "Apostolic Doctrine" (Acts 2:42). almario.....you are a "spiritual man," will you point me to another verse in the New Testament that instructs man in HOW to believe on Jesus? If God was only going to choose "a few," as you say, why would Jesus pray "for them also which believe on me through their word." In your theory, man does not have to believe, he has been "chosen." The Bible teaches that man must first "hear," before being "regenerated," or "sanctified" by "truth." This, is "free will." Jesus never forced anyone to believe in him. To do this, would be coercion from an outside force. Examples of free will: Pentecost, "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls" (Acts 2:42). What was it Jesus prayed in John 17:20? Read it again. Peter, was authorized to "remit" or "retain" sins as were the "eleven" (John 20:23). When Philip "preached Jesus" to the Ethopian in Acts 8:36-38, note the man's response to Philip's question. This is not coercion, but belief.
