No Sign, But the Sign of Jonah

- Why were the Scribes and Pharisees still asking Jesus for "signs from heaven" when they were witnesses to His great miracles?

- Why did our Lord call them "adulterous generation" when they were known zealous followers of the Ten Commandments?"

- If the "sign of Jonah" is simply the three days and three nights of our Lord in the tomb, thereafter His resurrection, why do people who know this "sign" cannot agree on many things about God and His words, just as the religious people were divided at that time?

John 16:1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. John 16:3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. John 16:4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

Lord we know You would never be remiss of Your promise: • Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. We believe you already came the second time, and introduced to us the Holy Spirit. • Mat 28:20 … lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. • Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Lord, Your enemies never cease hounding us. But with Your continued support and consolation, we sustain and hold on to Your Word. Therefore, Psa 56:10 In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. Psa 56:11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Psa 56:12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee. Psa 56:13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

Lord, for this great revelations You have blessed us with, we praise You through Your Word. No longer are we waiting for Your Second Coming, but for Your Second Appearance when we will be with Abel and all your saints in Paradise. • Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. • 1 Joh 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. By this You gave us the assurance that, indeed, You have separated us from the rest as “the King separates the sheep from the goats.” (Mat 25:32-45)
