An Eye for an Eye

- How can Christ's statement, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill," be reconciled with His preaching of love instead of revenge as it refers to this Old Testament Law "eye for an eye?"

- What is "eye for an eye," "tooth for a tooth," "hand for hand," "foot for foot," "wound for wound," and "life for life?"

Subject: From the "conflict of science and religion" thread
dear brethren, Please bear with me on my postings but really coudn't help it because our website is in already very, very deep slumber nowadays. Hoping much that these postings at least awakes GOD's Spiritual Truths that we claim is within us. Thank you. unceasingly praising and rejoicing only in GOD's Words of Spiritual Truth that HE let be written. Please take note of la_flash - the forgotten apologist. I really admire his literal spiritualizing defense on what he believed. He is enlightening me so much, in my humble opinion. But....religiosity is just plain morality, isn't it. Brethren, what do you think ? Yesterday, 01:12 AM #81 Tanaka_Yukio Time is a word that attempts to measure the exact moment something will happen, like breathing for example, I know I will breathe in the next second and in the next few years.. Answers are things that we inevitably seek as we live in this sullen world.. Religion and science are two very different things, but nevertheless, the two are studies. The conflict is something that has been going on for a very long time.. But then people only seem to look at the beginning, contemplating on whether something like the big bang is more believable than the notion of god creating the universe. Religion cannot prove anything as of now, but only hold on to its facts that have been rooted deep in the past. Science is progressing, newer ideas coming in every time, while in religion, the new things that ever come out are some individuals thoughts on something that has already been written down. In the long run, I think science is more believable... No offense to others, but then fact is more believable than "fiction" (<-- I use this term loosely here) Yesterday, 11:52 AM #82 joma_s The problem with religion is that it cannot accept science wholely or else it will lose its employment. And while facts are believable than fiction, the majority of the world's population would rather believe in fictional god. Ironic, isnt it? Today, 10:07 AM #86 nicolai_frank LOVE It appears that the atheists here do not really have a concrete definition of what a "proof" is. And yet, in loud voice they accuse the believers to have believed in God without proofs. Today, 10:10 AM #87 nicolai_frank LOVE The existence of a being does not depend on the possibility that it can be examined. There are numerous existing things which no one has the capability of examining. Failure to examine is not an argument against existence. Today, 10:43 AM #88 la_flash The Forgotten... A lot of vain philosophies exposed in here but la_flash just using sense and emotion defended much the existence of GOD within the realm of atheists that are ganging upon him right now. No matter where you look at it, you'll be sure that this truth will never change. To alter this truth is to shake the foundation of logic in mathematics. To suspend the law of gravity is not ILLOGICAL. God's omnipotence can make Him alter the laws of the universe to His own liking. However, please bear in mind that I can't really tell that He suspend gravity at that time. Or He just brought about a FORCE that will suspend the waters to let the Israelites cross the river. Nobody knows. That's not the stand of the "believers". If GOD is the actual infinite, He is a being that nothing greater can be concieved. If He is the GOD of logic and logic emanates from HIM, How could he defy his ownself? Today, 04:36 PM #144 la_flash The Forgotten... It can turn into ice, it can evaporate into steam, it can even appear in three states when the needed questions were met. But the chemical composition will remain the same. However, adding impurities to the H20 will also alter its properties. Hence, the water will not be the same water that it was before. Adding other chemicals to the H20 will change its chemical composition, this will change H20 into something else. You see, the H20 will not stay as water for long. Unlike, 2 + 2 = 4, this truth can't change whatever manipulation you do to it. And oh, the water turned into wine is an example of a miracle. It is not against logic when you consider that GOD is omnipotent and can change the laws of this universe in His own liking. The laws are different from logic. He rested his case after this post #144 and hopefully more will come.

Applying this parable of the “sheep and the goats,” when the SHEEP are in a pasture led by their Shepherd (Jesus Christ, a Lamb), do they engage in playful activities? I could imagine they concentrate on their ingestion of the “words that are as sweet as honey.” In the first place, goats are never allowed by the Shepherd to mingle with His flock.

Goats are allowed to propagate their kind until it is time for “harvest” as our Lord in His parable of the “wheat and tares.” (Mat 13:24-30). But the “goats” can never share in the “bread of the sheep” as our Lord told His Disciples in: Mar 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: Mar 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. This only proves what is written in: Mar 4:34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
