Mary Magdalene Personifies the Ideal Believer

- Who would think that Mary Magdalene typifies the ideal believer?

- Have you read, that from her acts and the privilege accorded to her by our Lord, Magdalene occupies the premier position among the apostles and disciples?

Subject: Teacher and teaching
I read the following verses and they seem to contradict each other: On one hand, God is sending His servants to “teach and preach”. Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them... Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! On the other hand, God is assuring His chosen to learn directly from Him: Jam 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. 1John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. I know God will never contradict Himself. How does He reconcile the seemingly contradictory verses? I think this is one cause for the proliferation of sects. I look forward to God’s divine revelation. Sandie

Sister Sandie, Matthew 22:29 ".....Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." If we are to translate this verse in another way, it would be something like, "Save your neighbor ( the lost sheeps ONLY ) as you have saved yourself".It is because LOVE, in the spiritual side, means " to care or think about the salvation of others:" Jude 1:23 "And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire...." For us to work for the salvation of those whom the Lord have sought, that, in the real sense, is "SPIRITUAL LOVE" , and the "how" to obey the second commandment: 2Timothy 2:10 " Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. " 1 John 4:16 "...God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God , and God in him." If on the first and the second commandments hang all the law and the prophets, it is a MUST, therefore, that all of God's people should obey them, isn't it? Now, can the newly found sheeps do it? Not yet, but eventually, they MUST! as this is the will of the Father. And these , as the anointed ( or appointed) disciples do, shall they do;.... to them that are "of the same in spiritual status " as they : Matthew 10: 8 "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out evils......." From generation to generation, this is the WAY of God concerning the "salvation of His people". The outsiders do not understand this so that we can see them teaching and preaching here and there when in fact they are not anointed.Who then, are the anointed ones? Here : 1Timothy 4:16 "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. " God said that if we lack wisdom we can ask of Him, right? Wasn't it that all the professing Christians in this world are asking God for it (wisdom)? Are they, or were they ever been given? Yes, so they say. But look at them! They profess that "God is in the midst of them" and yet in the middle of their fellowshipping they are collecting money from the people. Next? The officiating teachers will tell the people that God is good, merciful and understanding. Without their knowledge, God, exercising His power, is making them more ignorant of His word. In the beginning was the Word so , there is no way we can bargain and push our own way to God. It is either we take it, or we leave it. PERIOD. Sis. Sandie, asking and asking about the Truth is a sign that you really are, a "lost sheep" (as this is how the disciples of Christ are pictured in the book), and this means that your name is written in the book of life. But, as we can also read, God , when asked by them about "explanations" of a certain thing, He answered them in parables. On the other hand , as our Lord wishes and in His TIME, voluntarily He expound all things to them. What is my point here? Just to share with you that if Jesus' way of explaining something yesterday is in a "gradual manner", it is the still the same as today. In my own experience, when I wanted a verse cleared and I asked God holding James 1:5, I received nothing but frustrations. There were times when I really get doubtful and angry, and when this happens , the more I received no revelations. Now I know that Jesus Christ is not a robot who will succumb to all of my wishes but rather, my God who loves me so much and that I should exercise, whether I like it or not, to always "wait" and be contented with what kind of food He is giving me for the meantime afterall - IN HIS TIME- He surely will not fail me and will feed me with the right food that I want. What is important is that I remain a babe EVERY TIME,.... ALL THE TIME..... so that no matter what happens.... and I die suddenly, I will be wed to Him in the end.

This is just a supplement other brethren's previous postings on the same subject.   1Timothy 2:5-6   "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity."     Brethren, with the preceding verse it is known that preachers, apostles and teachers are the one who speak truth in Christ, and lie not. All little children or babes in Christ are the one being ordained as such.   Mat 28:19  "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:   These ordained/chosen people of God must speak and tell the truth in Christ without telling a lie to all nations. But what or who is the nation being referred to? As it is written   Jeremiah 31:36 "If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.   Deuteronomy 4:6 "Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people"   2 Timothy 3:15 "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.   Genesis 22:18 "And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.     As it written in above verses nation refers or pointing to chosen people or babes in Christ  especially if you continue  the last phrase of Matthew 28:19 "....baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Only few people know what is the name of the Father, theSon and the Holy Ghost who will abide and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ only, without having given the recognition from the one true God just like Peter?   This is where the verse Roman 10:14 comes in "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?   This is addressed to the new babes in Christ for when they hear the voice of their sheperd they recognized Him as it is written   John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:   This will happen to "all new babes to be" in Christ. In my own experience when I heard the voice(word + holy spirit) through the called teachers, prophets and apostles in Christ(who tells the truth and tell no lies about Jesus) I recognized and follow Him, although that time I can not understand or absorb(word + spirit).Through His mercy and my willingness(constant and wholeheartedly plea to make me understand His language[spiritual]) to follow Him. He opened my spiritual ears and eyes to hear and see the spiritual word of God.     Romans 10:14 "........And how they shall hear without the preacher"(one who tells truth in Christ, tells no lie).     1John 2:27  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. And when spiritual eyes and ears opened, this is the time 1 John 2:27 comes in and also,James 1:5-8   James 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him  ask of God , that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. ----- Original Message ----- From: "sandra3102" <bibletalk@purechristianity.org (bibletalk@purechristianity.org)> To: <bibletalk@purechristianity.org (bibletalk@purechristianity.org)> Sent: Saturday, October 08, 2005 12:23 AM Subject: Teacher and teaching     I read the following verses and they seem to contradict each other:   On one hand, God is sending His servants to "teach and preach".
