Subject: Slavery in Egypt
I read the following verse where the Jews claimed to Jesus they had never been slaves to other people. Joh 8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? How do we reconcile this claim with what is written about the Israelites in Egypt and were delivered from slavery only upon crossing the Red Sea?

I scanned Egyptian history (in history books) and never found about Moses and the Israelites having been slaves in that country. As a matter of fact, historians wrote, “Moses historical existence has been questioned.” The account about Moses and the Israelites is found in the Holy Bible only. All this is recounted in the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The authorship of these and Genesis (collectively called the Pentateuch) has been ascribed to Moses since earliest times; hence they are called the Books of Moses. Some questions: 1. Could it be that God is only using places, characters, and circumstances in His words in the Holy Bible in order to throw out human understanding of His words, specially the scientists who solely depend on facts? 2. For the religious scholars, the “wise and the prudent” (Matt. 11:25), in order to simply depend on their “sincerity” which they call “faith” without any basis at all as to the spiritual truth. Rom 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 3. For us therefore, we do not mind whether some events have happened literally or not as long as they serve as “first witness” to what God wants to convey. Example for literal or the “letter” of the word: Joh 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. The key word here is HATE and NOT JUST loving God more than these characters cited. The “wise and the prudent” without divine revelation will simply cite: Mat 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. For us, God has to reveal: The “father” to be hated, The “mother” to be hated, The “wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters” all to be hated. Therefore God has His wondrous way of separating the “sheep” from the “goats.” Can the “goats” possibly understand the “language of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, the Shepherd?” After all, did not our Lord say: Mar 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: Now regarding the reconciliation of: Joh 8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? With what is written in the book of Exodus on the matter, to us to whom God reveals the TWO WITNESSES to the TRUTH clearly gives further details about the true message that serves as our “spiritual food.”
