'Behold, I Stand at the Door'
- Who can claim having opened the "door" for our Lord that He had already come in?
- What is the "door" being referred to?
- How does the Lord sup with the person who has opened the "door"?

Building the "Physical Life"
(Social, Economic, Political, Scientific)
If the SPIRITUAL LIFE is founded on the “Rock” which is the TRUTH, PHYSICAL LIFE should stand on what is RIGHT. Jesus Christ as model showing the Way called this, “the will of the Father.” Bible characters who followed the Way lived this kind of “two-fold lives.” Perfection of the SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL LIFE is directed in the following:
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ” (1 Thes. 5:23) |
Man was created in the image of God upon creation (Gen. 1:27). The image of God is JESUS CHRIST (Col. 1:15-16) who is “portrayed” in the following:
Mat. 12:18 “ Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles. ”
Jesus was a man (1Tim. 2:5) having a body, soul, and the Spirit of the Father. That was the “image” of man upon creation. However, sin separated him from God. Thereafter, man was composed only of body and soul. The body is made up of the senses and everything related to them, while the soul is composed of the intellect and feeling. Sin turned man into a NATURAL MAN:
1 Cor. 2:14 “ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. ”
It is the fulfillment of the TESTAMENT OF SALVATION that the Spirit of God can be restored or “brought back” to the Natural Man. This is accomplished after man humbles himself like a little child before God. This is the “born again miracle” that Jesus Christ told Nicodemus in John 3:3. It marks the conversion of the Natural Man into a Spiritual Man:
1 Cor. 2:15 “ But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. ”
This article therefore is directed to the perfection of these “two-fold lives” of a real Christian or the Spiritual Man. The SPIRITUAL LIFE consists of the Spirit of God and the soul (referred to as spirit in 1 Thes. 5:23 ), while PHYSICAL LIFE is composed of the body and the soul. These "twin lives" of a real believer should always be "in agreement" in the journey to eternal life, as directed in:
Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
The life of a real Christian, composed of SPIRITUAL and PHYSICAL, is the TEMPLE of God :
1 Cor. 3:16 " Know ye not that ye are the temple of God , and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? "
The chosen or real Christians are co-laborers with God in building the "spiritual temple."
1 Cor. 3:9 " For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building."
The SPIRITUAL LIFE is guided by the TRUTH revealed by God through His words. This is acquired by humbling oneself as a "little child" (Matt. 18:3), with rewards of divine knowledge and wisdom:
Matt. 11:25 “At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.”
2 Tim. 3:15 " And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
In SPIRITUAL LIFE, God is "all in all," and the chosen’s only role is humility from the beginning to the end.
Eph. 4:6 “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
The PHYSICAL LIFE is the believer's domain. He/she is expected to maintain and preserve it. Jesus showed the example and Paul followed Him. Watch how Jesus speaks in parables or “spiritual things” when He told His Disciples:
Matt. 6:31 “ Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.”
From the Natural Man’s point of view, God will provide these necessities. However, Jesus Christ, by example, earned His living working as a carpenter (Mark 6:3). Paul followed the Way working as a tent maker (Acts 18:3), and now directing the chosen to follow his example:
1 Cor. 11:1 “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
Acts 20:33 “I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. 34Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.”
And yet our Lord told His Disciples:
Matt. 6:8 “… your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”
God therefore has to expound on this great misconception, because many people ask Him for these material-physical things. However, God says.
Phil. 2:12 “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
The real Christians “work out their own salvation” in the two-fold lives as follows:
Matt. 6:8 " Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him."
Jesus Christ, as man, showed the Way in conducting His PHYSICAL LIFE. Never did we see Him asking the Father for His material-financial needs. Paul saw this and followed it. Paul worked for our Lord and now enjoining the real Christians:
1 Cor. 11:1 “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
2 Thes. 3:10 “Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. 10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
This truth has been in force since the Old Testament:
Prov. 6:6 “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. 9How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? 10Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 11So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.”
This is what is meant by “ For we are labourers together with God,” that of taking the responsibility of keeping our PHYSICAL LIFE acceptable to God. If TRUTH is for SPIRITUAL LIFE, what is RIGHT is for PHYSICAL LIFE. The intellect and feeling determine what is RIGHT. These are the faculties “given by God even before asking Him." What is RIGHT follows the legal and moral path.
Our Lord laid the principle of maintaining the “two lives” and the line that separates them:
Mark 12:17 “And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.”
The PHYSICAL LIFE of real Christians and their relationship with other people is mandated to civil or government authorities:
1 Pet. 2:13 “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.”
Rom. 13:1 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers…the powers that be are ordained of God. 2Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good,… 4For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.”
The PHYSICAL LIFE is “preserved blameless” by the proper use of the mind, feeling, and the senses through self-discipline and mind conditioning. For this, God directs His people to be fed with “goats’ milk.”
Prov. 27.27 " And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food…"
Real Christians are called sheep while the Natural Men (1 Cor. 2:14 ) as goats:
Matt. 25:31 " When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats."
Christ recognizes the benefit that His chosen will get from the Natural Men in the following:
Matt. 10:16 " Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."
Satan is also called the “old serpent”:
Rev. 12:9 “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world…”
God classifies the people of the world into Spiritual Men (1 Cor. 2:15 -16) or “children of light,” and Natural Men (1 Cor. 2:14 ). Since Satan is the “god of this world” (2 Cor. 4:4), the Natural Men who are “of this world” are referred to as “serpents.” Thus, Jesus told His Disciples to learn from them on matters of worldly wisdom. Natural Men, who are also called “children of this world,” are adroit or more skillful on the things of the world that Jesus recognizes in the following:
Luke 16:8 “And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.”
In the wilderness God heard the Israelites complaining:
Numbers 21:5 "And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread."
How could there be "no bread and water" when God provided them with Manna from above and water from the Rock. "Soul loathing this light bread" therefore refers to "spiritual food" that God provided them for their SPIRITUAL LIFE. The people who were longing for the "weighty kind of food" must be referring to their PHYSICAL LIFE.
Numbers 21:6 "And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people… 8And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived."
The bronze serpent symbolizes Jesus Christ, a human being, who lived in this world, "the kingdom of Satan ."
2 Cor. 4:4 "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ…should shine unto them."
Jesus Christ took the symbol of a serpent to indicate that, as a human being living in this world, He had to be “wise” like a Natural Man on matters pertaining to His PHYSICAL LIFE. Real Christians therefore who are tempted to only see the "light bread" or solely the “spiritual food” that God is providing, should look at Jesus who showed the Way living as a HUMAN BEING. How He earned His living as a carpenter, related and dealt with the people socially, and the other aspect of PHYSICAL LIFE. There are two aspects of life that Jesus acted as mediator between God and men:
1 Tim. 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
“Jesus is the Way.” As man He showed the example, of growing in stature both physically and spiritually, to the real believers:
Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God [spiritual] and man [physical] .”
Jesus Christ conducted His PHYSICAL LIFE in a simple but honorable way.
Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us?"
Jesus lived normally and nothing is written that He ever asked the Father for His physical-material needs. Paul followed the example on this physical aspect of life and telling the real believers to go after him:
1 Cor. 11:1 "Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ."
Acts 20:33 "I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. 34Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me."
Perhaps many religious leaders failed to notice this facet of life that they depend on other people for a living. This is contrary to this directive:
2 Thes. 3:7 “For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us… 8Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: 9Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. 10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
LESSONS FROM THE NATURAL MEN FOR THE PHYSICAL LIFE
For PHYSICAL LIFE, God recognizes human wisdom coming from Natural Men. The following maxims will certainly help real Christians sustain life in this world. Then, life in the "1 st heaven" will be more tolerable and less miserable. All these are in preparation for their "flight to the 2 nd heaven," and ultimately to the “3 rd heaven.” For details read the article FIRST-SECOND-THIRD HEAVEN www.purechristianity.org/first_second_third_heaven.htm)

Attitude
Walking on Life’s Hot Spots
1. Perseverance:
I keep on walking, for a sure-fire way to get burned is to stop. When I am afraid, or under extreme stress, or hurting -- I keep on going. I will get through if I keep dealing with the everyday tasks at hand to the best of my ability.
2. Patience:
I will always remember that this difficult time will pass. It may feel that I am in a repeating time warp, but I should realize that pain is time-limited. All problems have a beginning and an end.
3. Courage:
I try to make rough times work for me. Not everything is good, but the Bible reminds me that everything can be used for good if I submit my will to God. I look for ways to learn, grow, and cope with my pain or stress.
4. Contentment:
I take "what is" and make the most of it. I make lemonade from lemons. I am not called upon to create perfection from every situation, only to make the most of it. I don't waste my time on ceaseless complaining, but look for meaning and joy in all situations.
5. Responsibility:
I clean up my own trash. Stand on my own feet and don't try to blame others for my problems. I am not a victim. I choose to live the rest of my life with controlled response to what is happening.
6. Integrity:
I am true to myself. Then, I will have more strength for dealing with ordeals in life if I have the courage to be true to my own values. Hypocrisy destroys my internal energy.
7. Gratitude:
I should be glad, not mad. Expressions of gratitude calm my mind and feeling.
8. Humor:
I should have as much fun as I can. Anticipation of fun raises the level of my energy. I learn to laugh through my trials.
9. Exhibit Internal Control:
I determine what is within my control. I cannot control what happens to me, but I can choose the frame I put around my experiences. I can choose how I will deal with all situations.
10. Passion:
I should be enthusiastic. Enthusiasm literally means, "Truth in me." Truth is the Light that should always shine in my life.
Ten beads I will always count
1. TODAY I WILL NOT STRIKE BACK:
If someone is rude, impatient, unkind... I will not respond in a like manner.
2.TODAY I WILL ASK GOD TO BLESS MY ENEMY:
If I come across someone who treats me harshly or unfairly, I will be thinking how to share the truth that the person may also see the light. That "enemy" could be a family member, neighbor, co-worker or stranger.
3. TODAY I WILL BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT I SAY.
I will carefully choose and guard my words, certain that I do not spread gossip.
4. TODAY I WILL GO THE EXTRA MILE:
I will find ways to help share the burden of another person.
5. TODAY I WILL FORGIVE:
I will forgive any hurts or injuries that come my way.
6. TODAY I WILL SECRETLY DO SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE:
I will reach out anonymously and bless the life of another.
7. TODAY I WILL NOT TREAT OTHERS THE WAY I DON'T WANT TO BE TREATED:
I will practice the golden rule -- "Do not do unto others that you'd not want to be done unto you."
8. TODAY I WILL RAISE THE SPIRITS OF SOMEONE WHO IS DISCOURAGED:
My smile, my words, my expression of support, can make the difference to someone who is wrestling with life.
9. TODAY I WILL NURTURE MY BODY:
I will eat the right foods, exercise my body, and thank God for it.
10. TODAY I WILL GROW SPIRITUALLY:
I will count my spiritual blessings, "for now my eyes are opened to see Christ that now God no longer is a mystery," "opened my ears to understand the truth," and “I was raised from spiritual death."

Avoiding temptation
A true story is told of a woman from Switzerland who was served dinner on a domestic American flight.
She immediately opened up her dessert -- a delicious looking piece of chocolate cake.
She heavily salted and peppered it.
The flight attendant was shocked and said to the passenger, "Oh! It's not necessary to do that!"
"But it is," the woman replied, smiling. "It keeps me from eating it!"
Ten Commandments on human relations
1. Speak to people.
There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting. (Psalm 19:14 "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." )
2. Smile at people.
It takes seventy-two muscles to frown, only fourteen to smile. (Proverbs 13:9 "The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out." )
3. Call people by name.
Music to anyone's ears is the sound of his/her own name. (Romans 12:10 "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.")
4. Be friendly and helpful.
(John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." )
5. Be cordial
Speak and act as if everything you do is genuinely a pleasure, and if it isn't, learn to make it so. (Philippians 2:3 "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.")
6. Be genuinely interested in people.
You can like almost everybody if you try. (Proverbs 20:6 "Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?")
7. Be generous with praise, cautious with criticism.
(Romans 12:10 " kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.")
8. Be considerate with the feelings of others.
The ultimate engine of success is (By Lou Holtz): ABILITY is what you are capable of doing, MOTIVATION determines what you do, ATTITUDE is the engine of success for it determines how well you do it.There are usually three sides to a controversy: yours, the other fellow's, and the right one. (1Peter 2:17 "Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king." )
9. Be alert to serve.
What counts most in life is what we do for others. (2 Corinthians 4:5 "For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as servants for Jesus' sake.")
10. Add to this a good sense of humor, a big dose of patience, and a dash of humility, and you will be rewarded manifold through life.
(Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.") [With due respect to the author]
Scars remain

The Value of a Real Christian
A real Christian spoke before his brethren holding a P1000 bill. In the room of 100 fellow true believers, he asked, "Who would like this P1000 bill?"
Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this P1000 to one of you but first let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the peso bill up. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty, "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.
"My brethren, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, we still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth P1000."
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, we will never lose our value in the eyes of God. To Him, dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, we are still priceless to Him.
God is love and He does not look at us as the world sometimes does. People sometimes respect us because of our stature in life. But God wants us to forget about the treasures of this earth and think about His treasure that is Eternal.
II Corinthians 4:18 says, "While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
The worth of our lives comes not from what we do or who we are in the eyes of men, but by whose we are! We are God's precious possession.

Symptoms Of Inner Peace
Be on the lookout for symptoms of inner peace. The hearts of a great many people have already been exposed to inner peace, and it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it. Under the right circumstances, inner peace could reach epidemic proportions. This situation could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now, been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.

Research has found that people who generally live longer do so partly because of good habits. Here, Dr Vernon Coleman and others provide some of the following good habits for longevity.
Vegetables
How it combats cancer : Research has revealed that a chemical component called indole-3-carbinol can combat breast cancer by converting a cancer-promoting estrogen into a more protective variety. The phytochemical sulforaphane raises the levels of certain cancer-fighting enzymes that defend the body from cigarette smoke, fumes, pesticides & other known carcinogens.
Diet tips: Broccoli leaves actually contain more beta-carotene (i.e. pre-Vitamin A) than the florets - use leaves in purees, soups, stir-fries. To preserve broccoli’s valuable nutrients, steam or microwave, being careful not to overcook. Avoid garnishing broccoli with fatty cheeses and creams instead, squeeze on some lemon juice or sprinkle with toasted bread crumbs.
PAPAYA
How it combats cancer : Its plentiful store of vitamin C works as an antioxidant and may also reduce absorption of cancer-causing nitrosamines from the soil or processed foods. Papaya contains folacin (also known as folic acid), which has been shown to minimize cervical ysplasia and certain cancers.
Diet tips: Choose papayas that are at least half yellow in the store - fully green ones were probably picked too soon and won’t ripen properly. You can serve papaya in fruit salad, add it to a garlic-and-spinach pasta mixture, or just eat it on its own, letting the juice dribble down your arm.
GARLIC
How it combats cancer : Garlic’s immune-enhancing allium compounds block carcinogens from entering cells and slow tumor development. Diallyl sulfide, a component of garlic oil, has also been shown to render carcinogens in the liver inactive. Studies have linked garlic - as well as onions, leeks, and chives - to lower risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Diet tips: Add raw garlic to salads, use it fresh in marinades and sauces;
rub freshly cut garlic around the insides of salad bowls and over chicken and fish fillets. Avoid dried or powdered garlic, which is less
concentrated - and less effective
KALE
How it combats cancer : Research has shown that indoles, nitrogen compounds found in kale and other leafy greens, may help stop the conversion of certain lesions to cancerous cells in estrogen-sensitive tissues. In addition, isothiocyanates, phytochemicals found in kale, are thought to suppress tumor growth and block cancer-causing substances from reaching their targets.
Diet tips: A cruciferous vegetable, kale requires quick cooking - blanching or steaming - to preserve its nutrients. When you’re done, save the nutrient-rich cooking liquid for soups or sauces. You can also use whole large leaves to wrap fillings or to layer in lasagna.
SWEET POTATO
How it combats cancer : This nutrient-dense food contains many anticancer properties. It’s loaded with beta-carotene, which may protect DNA in the cell nucleus from cancer-causing chemicals outside the nuclear membrane.
Diet tips: Go for freshness when picking potatoes – canned varieties contain less beta-carotene and vitamins C and B. Naturally sweet and creamy, mashed sweet potatoes can be enhanced with a little apple juice. Or whip the cooked tubers with orange zest or orange juice and season with cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
GRAPEFRUIT
How it combats cancer : Grapefruits, like oranges and other citrus fruits, contain monoterpenes, believed to help prevent cancer by sweeping carcinogens out of the body. Some studies show that grapefruit can inhibit the proliferation of breast-cancer cells in vitro. It also contains vitamin C, beta-carotene, and folic acid.
Diet tips: Grapefruit can be sweetened with brown sugar or a drizzle of maple syrup or honey; vanilla extract, fresh mint, and almonds also accent the fruit’s flavor. Grapefruit juice will give you the antioxidants and phytochemicals that fight cancer, but it’s missing the fiber that fresh, whole grapefruit offers.
AVOCADO
How it combats cancer : Avocados are rich in glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that attacks free radicals in the body by blocking intestinal absorption of certain fats. Ounce for ounce, avocados also supply 60 percent more potassium than bananas and are a strong source of beta-carotene.
Diet tips: Store avocados at room temperature until they soften. If you don’t eat the fruit immediately after cutting, sprinkle on some lemon or lime juice to keep it from darkening. Add chunks or slices to salads and sandwiches or spread mashed avocado on bread.
SEAWEED
How they combat cancer : Seaweed and other sea vegetables contain beta-carotene, protein, vitamin B12, fiber, and chlorophyll, as well as chlorophylones - important fatty acids that may help in the fight against breast cancer. Also, many sea vegetables have high concentrations of the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and iodine.
Diet tips: Sea vegetables come fresh, dried, or powdered. Both the Japanese & the Irish regularly use them as flavorings for broths & soups,stir-fried over rice, or as a wrap for fish and other seafood. Varieties such as dulce, wakame, kombu, and hijiki even appear in pancakes, salads, puddings, and sandwiches.
TOFU
How it combats cancer : Soy contains several types of phytoestrogens -weak, nonsteroidal estrogens that could help prevent both breast and prostate cancer by blocking and suppressing cancerous changes. Genistein, one type of phytoestrogen, also lowers breast-cancer risk by inhibiting the growth of epithelial cells & new blood vessels that tumors require to flourish.
Diet tips: Tofu is made by coagulating the protein in soybeans - much the way cheese is produced. While bland on its own, tofu absorbs other flavors when cooked, making it perfect for stir-fries, dips, spreads, shakes, even cheesecake. It’s also a good high-protein substitute for meat, whole milk & mayonnaise.

ADDITIONAL NOTES (From Mansor Hj Sukaimi)
Please note that ALL cruciferous vegetables (like cabbage, broccholi, cauliflower, kale, Brussel sprouts) SHOULD NOT be taken raw as they contain oxalates which is excessive, and this can lead to gall stones. To the get maximum benefit from these vegetables, please do not overcook them. Just “celuh” and take them with the crispy “krek-krek” taste still intact.
4) CAUSES OF CANCER
The number ONE killer in Singapore is cancer (followed by Heart Disease & Stroke). Not all cancers are the same. 1/3 is curable. 1/3 is preventable. 2 factors of cancer that cannot be controlled are AGE & FAMILY HISTORY.
Causes of cancer:
1. Smoking is very often the main cause of cancer. It kills us silently and drains money from us quietly. There're 4,000 harmful chemicals (though in diluted form) in one stick of cigarette. Taking one puff is 600 times worst than inhaling the exhaust fumes from vehicles.
2. Some food that cause cancer are:
a. Barbecued Food
b. Deep Fried Food
c. Overheating Meat
d. Food that is high in fat causes our bile to secrete acid that contains a chemical that is a promoter of cancer cells.
e. Food that contains preservatives, too much salt or nitrates (e.g. Canned food, Salted egg & veggies, sausages, etc.)
f. Overnight Rice (where Aflatoxin is accumulated)
g. Food that is low in fibre: Our body needs 25 gm of both soluble & insoluble fibre daily. We must drink at least 1.5 litres of plain water a day.
h. Contaminated Food (e.g. moulded bread causes our body to secrete toxins that may eventually lead to liver cancer in the long run. Never eat bread that is kept in room temperature for more than 2 days especially in a humid weather like Singapore 's.
3. Types of fat and which is the best?
a. Highly Recommended for Health:-
Olive Oil - The best of all oils. It does not absorb in our body.
Fish Oil - Omega 3 (contained in NI's Circulytes) has poly-unsaturated fat. It's good for our brain cells.
Peanut Oil - It contains Vitamin E. A small dosage is recommended only.
b. Not Recommended for Health
Vegetable Fat - Palm oil is worst than coconut oil. It is high in cholesterol and highly unsaturated.
Coconut Oil - It has saturated fat.
4. Specific Food & Beverages
a. Egg when eaten too much can cause High Colon Cancer. Risk Ovary Cancer and Prostate Cancer.
b. Cabbage is highly recommended for health reason.
c. Tomato is best eaten raw with a bit of olive oil for better absorption. Other alternative is to take tomato sauce.
d. Coffee is good because it contains 2 anti-oxidants. However, the residue of over-burned coffee is extremely bad for health. It can cause cancer. Inhaling the coffee aroma is very good for the health.
e. Tea, as long as it is in its original tea leaves and not processed into BOH or Lipton packets, is good for health. Tea contains 30 anti-oxidants. Recommended dosage is 4 cups a day.
5) SALT THE CURE OF PAIN
Rinsing the mouth with a glass of salt water for sore throat can reduce inflammation. This has been proven medically.
Pain in the joints/spine/body (especially for old people who have rheumatism) may find relief with this. Simply fry salt and let it settle down for a while before applying on affected areas.
And if you have a problem of Hair Loss, you can prepare a pail of salt water and rinsing the scalp/hair with it (it takes about 2 weeks to a month). It will not help in growing of new hair but can prevent loss.
After strenuous exercise, soaking your feet with salt water can help prevent cramps and pain, and also prevent skin irritation.
6) HONEY & CINNAMON
It is found that a mixture of Honey and Cinnamon cures many diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Ayurvedic as well as Yunani medicine have been using honey as a vital medicine for centuries. Scientists of today also accept honey as a Ram Ban (very effective) medicine for several kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects. Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. A famous magazine named Weekly World News published in Canada dated 17 January, 1995 has given a list of diseases that can be cured with Honey and Cinnamon as researched by western scientists.
The list is shown below:
No. |
Disease |
Curing way |
1. |
ARTHRITIS: |
Take one part honey to two parts of warm water and add a teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste and massage it on the itching part of the body slowly. It is noticed that the pain recedes slowly. Or arthritis patients may take two tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon power in a cup of hot water. If drunk regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research done at the Copenhagen University , it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon cinnamon powder before breakfast. They found that within a week out of the 200 people so treated practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain within a month. Most of the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain. |
2. |
HAIR LOSS: |
Those suffering from hair loss or baldness, may apply a paste of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder before bath and keep it for approx. 15 min. and then wash the hair. It was found very effective if kept for 5 minutes also. |
3. |
BLADDER INFECTIONS: |
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of luke warm water and drink it. It destroys the germs of the bladder. |
4. |

Yunani and Ayurvedic have been using honey for years in medicine to strengthen the semen of men. If impotent men regularly take two tablespoon of honey before sleeping, their problem will be solved. In China , Japan and Far-East countries, women who do not conceive and to strengthen the uterus have been taking cinnamon powder for centuries. Women who cannot conceive may take a pinch of cinnamon powder in half teaspoon of honey and apply it on the gums frequently throughout the day, so that it slowly mixes with the saliva and enters the body. |
7. |
UPSET STOMACH: |
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomachache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root. |
8. |
GAS: |
According to the studies done in India & Japan , it is revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas. |
9. |
HEART DISEASES: |
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread or chappati instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, are kept from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and regulates the heartbeat. In America and Canada , various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that due to the increasing age the arteries and veins, which lose their flexibility and get clogged, are revitalized. |
10. |
IMMUNE SYSTEM: |
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases. |

7) DANGER OF COKE & PEPSI (SOFT DRINKS)
For those of who love Coke/Pepsi, try the following:
1. To clean a toilet:
Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl.
Let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean.
The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
No scrubbing, no sweat - guaranteed.
2. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of aluminum foils dipped in Coca-Cola. More economical than the stuff from Smart Shop.
3. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals;
Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
4. To loosen a rusted bolt;
Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
5. To remove grease from clothes;
Empty a can of Coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle.
6. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
Hey, what do we have here?
The world's first soft drink disguise as a multi-purpose cleaner? Or should it be a multi-purpose cleaner disguise as a soft drink!!!
Besides that, if you pour Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, wait a little while, you will SEE WORMS crawl out of it.
AND WE DRINK THIS STUFF! Coke & Pepsi ALARMING FACTS!!!
The average pH of soft drinks, e.g. Coke, Pepsi is pH 3.4. This acidity is strong enough to dissolve teeth and bones! Our human body stops building bones at around the age of 30. After that it'll be dissolving about 8-18% of the bones each year through the urine, depending on the acidity of the food intake (acidity does not depend on the taste of the food, but on the ratio of potassium / calcium / magnesium / etc. to phosphorus).
All the dissolved calcium compounds accumulate in the arteries, veins, skin tissue, and organs. This affects the functioning of the kidney (kidney stones). Soft drinks do not have any nutritional value (in terms of vitamins and minerals). They have higher sugar content, higher acidity, and more additives such as preservatives and colorings.
Some people like to take cold soft drinks after each meal, guess what's the impact? Our body has an optimum temperature of 37 degrees for the functioning of digestive enzymes. The temperature of cold soft drinks is much less than 37, sometimes quite close to 0. This will lower the effectiveness of the enzymes and put stress on the digestive system, digesting less food. In fact the food gets fermented. The fermented food produce bad smelling gases, decays and forms toxins, which are absorbed in the intestines, circulate in the blood and is delivered to the whole body. This spread of toxins can lead to the development of various diseases. Think before you drink Coke or Pepsi or any other soft drink.
Have you ever thought what you drink when you drink an aerated drink? You gulp down carbon dioxide, something that no sane person in the world would advise you to do. Few months ago, there was a competition in Delhi University "Who can drink the most Coke?". The winner drank 8 bottles and died on the spot because too much carbon dioxide in the blood and not enough oxygen. From then on, the principal banned all soft drinks from the university canteen.
Someone put a broken tooth in a bottle of Pepsi and in 10 days it is dissolved! Teeth and bones are the only human organs that stay intact for years after death. Imagine what the drink must be doing to your delicate soft intestines and stomach lining! To all COKE / PEPSI LOVERS, think again the next time before you say " CHUP ".
8) DANGER OF EATING PORK
The following is from Dr. Lee Say Fatt -- Pork Awareness (worth reading)
(FYI No more 'zhu zha tang' or yummy 'bak kut teh'...)
Try this and see whether the pork you bought has worms. There goes with your "Bak Kut Teh" for those who love it. Most men love to eat this so watch out before it's too late. If you pour Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, wait a little while, you will SEE WORMS crawl out of it.
A message from the Health Corporation of Singapore about the bad effects of pork consumption. Pork contains MANY TOXINS, WORMS and LATENT DISEASES.
Although some of this infestation is harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that hogs are PREDISPOSED to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because PIGS like to SCAVENGE and will eat ANY kind of food, INCLUDING dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta including their own, garbage, and other pigs.
INFLUENZA (flu) is one illness that pigs share with humans. This affects the LUNGS of pigs during summer and human in the cooler months. Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who EAT pork sausage tend to SUFFER MORE during EPIDEMICS of INFLUENZA.
Pork contains EXCESSIVE quantities of HISTAMINE and IMIDAZOLE compounds, which can lead to I TC HING and INFLAMMATION; GROWTH HORMONE which PROMOTES INFLAMMATION and growth; sulphur containing mesenchymal mucus which leads to SWELLING and deposits of MUCUS in tendons and cartilage, resulting in ATHRITIS, RHEUMATISM, etc. Sulphur helps cause FIRM human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartiliage. Eating pork can also lead to GALLSTONES and OBESITY, probably due to its HIGH CHOLESTEROL and SATURATED FAT content.
The pig is the MAIN CARRIER of the TAENIE SOLIUM WORM, which is found in it flesh.
These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has RICHINOSIS from eating trichina worms, which are found in pork. Many people have NO SYMPTOMS after eating pork. When they do have any sickness in long term, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are NOT noticed during meat inspections.
9) URGENT MEDICAL WARNING Alert!! - Medicine Removal
By Terisa Truesdell
Hello All, Please read and copy this notice to the people you love. This is not a matter to be taken lightly. This medical alert was broadcast on the news. Stop taking anything containing the ingredient Phenylpropanolamine. It has been linked to increased hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in brain) among women ages 18-49 in the three days after starting us of medication. Problems were not found in men, but the FDA has recommended that everyone (even children) seek alternative medicines. Having taken a few of this medicine at one time or another, I called CVS to see if there was any truth to this email. They said that it was so, and if! I have any of these products at home, I should stop using them. CVS has removed all products containing this chemical from their shelves.
